At Smoking Gun PR, we do a lot of work in the motoring industry and the last week has been a pretty exciting one.
Not only were there new car launches for the Audi TT and the mini five door, but members of our team joined tyre dealers and the media at an exciting product event at Rockingham Speedway. The event which was designed to showcase Kumho Tyre’s latest products, saw members of the team test out the impact of ABS and quality tyres on a wet grip area, go for a passenger ride in an Aerial Atom and test out Kumho’s new Crugen HP91 SUV tyres.
However the past week has also seen everyone across the the country reminded of the dangers of driving. The reason, because one brave mother from Norfolk has released the footage taken by her motorcyclist son’s headcam, just before he died.
Brenda Holmes’ son David, 38, died when his bike which was speeding hit a car that turned across his path. The shocking video has been released by Norfolk Constabulary, in order to promote safer driving and in a week has already clocked up 10 million views. Our thoughts go out to Brenda and her family, we are truly inspired by the strength they have shown in releasing this footage in order to help educate Britain’s 45.8 million registered drivers.
