My tip for the winners of World Cup 2014: Nike

Nike ad

The only thing that will be anywhere near as hotly contested as the World Cup this summer is the battle between the brands looking to make the most ‘noise’ during the tournament in Brazil.
Theoretically speaking, you’d expect Adidas, the primary sponsor of the competition, to be the brand to beat in the buzz stakes – but it never seems to be that way. In 2010 Nike blew their main rivals out of the water with their ‘Write the Future’ campaign.

Although the campaigns for this year’s tournament are still tightly under wraps, in my humble opinion I can only see one winner, and that is Nike.
Why I hear you ask? Well, if the success of an ad campaign is based on how long it stays in the memory, then try telling me the below doesn’t make Nike the king of the World Cup ads. (Side note, this was 16, yes SIXTEEN years ago – wow I feel old).

Lets see what cool and creative campaigns Nike have in store for us this year!
