Our intrepid explorers Ben and Harriet ventured down to the Manchester Food and Drink Festival as soon as we heard therumour that another cheese company was encroaching on Butler’s turf!
And whom should we see but Sean Wilson – most famously known as Corrie’s Martin Platt, who is the proud owner of Saddleworth Cheese Co. near Preston. We jumped at the chance to promote our Butler’s cheese to a celebrity and talk about our clients. The adventurers requested a photograph with some of our triumphant Blacksticks Blue, but he politely declined, although admitted that he greatly enjoyed rivals Butlers cheeses; especially the multi-award winning Blacksticks Silk goats cheese which was his secret favourite.

As a leaving gesture we traded our Blacksticks for some aptly named ‘Smelly Apeth’ and spirited away on good terms to carry on our Butlers crusade.
