DIGITAL- The new Nexus 7, Google’s latest tablet, has just been unveiled in California, boasting 4G, wireless charging, and the world’s sharpest screen.
DIGITAL- The Telegraph is launching a price plan with Vodafone, bundling an iPad and data with subscription to the online edition of the paper.
DIGITAL- Apple’s new, scaled back iPhone is coming soon in a range of colours, news that follows more reports of mistreated workers in the Far East.
DIGITAL- Google Chromecast is set to be launched, a dongle-type product that allows users to stream content onto TVs from YouTube, Netflix and more.
ONLINE- A new system of internet filters is being backed by David Cameron, which can block anything from smoking websites to hardcore pornography.
ONLINE- 94million visits were made to news and media websites on July 22nd thanks to the UK’s new Prince, George, up 22% on Britain’s daily average.
PRINT- The International Herald Tribune is set to change its name to the International New York Times as of October 15th.
PRINT- Listings weekly TV Pick, the first new TV title to launch since 2005, will cease publication after just 22 issues due to low sales and circulation rates.
PRINT- British lads mags like FHM are being forced to cover up provocative covers by The Co-operative, one of the country’s biggest magazine retailers.
SOCIAL- Facebook activity surrounding TV shows is now five times higher than on any other platform, according to research by Trendrr.
SOCIAL- Twitter is set to make reporting abuse on the network easier after threats made to gender equality campaigner Caroline Criado-Perez.
SOCIAL- #thesocialwave has opened in Mallorca- the world’s first social media themed hotel (although we’re not really sure what that means).
SOCIAL- A study by tech firm Adobe has judged hospitality and travel to be ahead of the industry pack for customer care on social media.
