BROADCAST- Tablet and smartphone TV viewing now accounts for 1.5% of all programmes watched in the UK, up on the expected figure of 1.2%.
DIGITAL- TotalFilm now has the highest digital magazine circulation in Britain, 12,280, ahead of GQ’s 12,231, which beat Men’s Health to second place.
DIGITAL- Twitter has bought a second social TV start up, Trendrr, in a bid to make it easier for broadcasters to display tweets during programmes.
DIGITAL/PRINT- Magazine publishing giant Conde Naste has signed a major deal with Amazon to sell both print and tablet subscriptions to its titles.
MOBILE- X Factor producers have revealed the fifth judge for the show’s tenth edition; viewers can now cast their final vote via a mobile app.
PRINT- Marie Clare, one of the UK’s leading female fashion magazines, will mark its 25th anniversary in October with a bumper 430-page issue.
SOCIAL- Twitter users should start finding it easier to follow conversations on the network with reply tweets now being displayed in chronological order.
SOCIAL- Twitter is toying with a tool that will allow people to highlight and tweet entire sections from online articles, a little like copy and paste.
SOCIAL- Facebook will now allow brands to run competitions wherein the public enters simply by posting a comment in a bid to offer more options.
SOCIAL- Facebook must pay $20million in legal costs and damages for using 150million U.S. members’ preferences to create sellable sponsored stories.
