Architect BDP has drawn up artist’s impressions of how the site could look.

Plans have been unveiled to create a park in Greater Manchester bigger than London’s Hyde and Regents combined, even covering more area than Central Park in New York. Spanning Manchester, Salford, and Bury, City Forest Park will be 800acres, could stage concerts and festivals, including the International Festival, and will include more than 45KM of cycleways and paths, alongside roads and rivers connecting the city centre. Not bad publicity for the region.

The UK Government has caused widespread outrage this week by overruling Lancashire Council’s decision to ban fracking in the county. A huge PR fail for Theresa May’s cabinet considering the PM stated she would be focussed on empowering the electorate and protecting their wishes, and global leaders just agreed to ratify the Paris Climate Agreement to cap rising temperatures through a reduction in the consumption of fossil fuels.
