A weekly roundup of media news and talking points, sans effort
Quote of the week
“They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists… And some, I assume, are good people.??? U.S. presidential candidate and multi-billionaire Donald Trump, discussing his feelings towards Mexican migrants, in one of the most worrying and shocking public displays of racial prejudice we’ve heard in quite some time. Quote of the week, for ALL the wrong reasons.

Nobel laureate Tim Hunt was forced to resign from his honorary professorship this week following comments he made at a South Korean conference about the need for single-sex science labs to avoid one of three things happening- boys falling in love with girls, girls falling in love with boys, or girls going off crying when they are criticised. Cue a huge Twitter backlash via the hashtag #distractinglysexy. Here are some of the best:

Rare moment where I wasn’t crying or falling in love in labs. Damn my feeble female mind! #distractinglysexy pic.twitter.com/41iJ7RHxNU
