A weekly roundup of talking points, sans effort
Thought for the week
“Christmas, children, is not a date. It’s a state of mind.” American Educator Mary Ellen Chase, discussing Christmas.
Weekly high
The reasons to sign up to Google+ continue to grow (sort of), with this seasonal showcase of Hangout functionality, featuring two of the most beloved characters to ever have dominated the Christmas Day afternoon schedule. Needless to say, we’re counting down the hours…

God bless Facebook. Just when you think the social network can’t share your information with anyone else those geniuses think of another reason for use to loathe them. Photo-sharing site Instagram, bought out by Zuckerberg Corp. earlier this year, now has the rights to sell any images uploaded onto the service. How’s that for privacy?
Things that might happen next week…
Most of us will be off work celebrating the holidays, many presents will be unwrapped, and it’s highly likely someone will fall asleep in front of the TV shortly after Christmas dinner.
Dates for your diary
Monday 24th December; Christian world-wide- Christmas Eve; A host of wonderful activities will be open to social media experts, bloggers, and just about anybody else that wants to get involved. Carol singing, mulled wine, and mince pies are all on offer.
Tuesday 25th December, Christian world-wide- Christmas Day; The big one for many PR and marketing professionals, expect a boozy breakfast followed by gift giving and lashings of chocolate. We can’t wait.
Wednesday 26th December, Britain- Boxing Day; Despite the fact things usually start off slowly this well-established UK marketing institution should always be recognised. Think left overs, cheese boards, and better TV than the previous 24hours.
If there is a success story, blunder, or news event you’d like to see included email helloATsmokinggun.co.uk or tweet using #blaggersblog. Happy Friday!
