The Smoking Gun team stepped out in style last night at the CIPR PRide NW awards, the largest public relations and marketing awards in the region, held at Manchester’s prestigious Midland Hotel, resplendant with a Great Gatsby theme.
Once again the competition was fierce, entries were at the highest ever level with over 1,100 submissions, and the finest in the industry vying for a spot on the proverbial podium. We’re delighted to say that we walked away with four awards on the night out of the five we were shortlisted for. A fabulous return which adds to our already burgeoning trophy cabinet, with twenty accolades coming our way in the last four years.
Thanks to our efforts on behalf of Virgin Holidays last year, wherein we turned the glass and steel of Manchester’s Spinningfields business district into a Tunnel To Barbados in order to raise awareness of direct routes from the city’s airport to the Caribbean island, we managed to bag two Golds for Best Event and Best Use of Photography from the good people at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Read more on the campaign here.
We were also thrilled to land two further awards for our ongoing work helping to position Silentnight beds as the UK’s leading sleep expert, in the Consumer Relations and Best Digital categories. Again, more details can be found here. Needless to say, the celebrations went on long into the night, although we still managed to make it to work bright and (fairly) breezy this morning, ready to come up with similarly ingenious master plans on behalf of the brands we love. A fantastic bash to say the least then.
We’d also like to take this opportunity to congratulate some of the other winners, who all thoroughly deserve their recognition, with the full list of those coming away triumphant available to view here. Onwards and upwards, as they say, though, so let’s leave the pat on the back there, get back to our desks and set sights on achieving similarly stunning results between now and Christmas, and, of course, well into next year.
