It might be Halloween today but we’ve been scarily busy all month. Research in Copenhagen, standout travel PR campaigns, training sessions and a veritable litter of little ones have defined the last few weeks.
First up we’ve been flexing our travel PR muscles once again, this time working with On The Beach to create a major marketing push based on our treasured childhood memories. Launched to tie in with the October half-term school holidays, after quizzing the public on their most vivid recollections the results were collated into a stunning infographic, used to create video content and, finally, broken down into the five key triggers for customers to consider when planning to make more memories.
Never ones to stay grounded, our MD Rick Guttridge flew out to Denmark’s uber-cool capital, Copenhagen, before crossing the bridge from The Bridge to nearby Malmo, Sweden’s creative and artistic epicentre, all in the name of learning. Visiting high-growth companies to gain an understanding of how unique organisational cultures can fuel tangible business growth, it’s fitting this trip came in the midst of our month-long blog focus on the importance of employee engagement.
He’s not the only one to have been out of office, either. Recent times have seen members of our team engage in some impressive career development and training. Time at Citypress with industry body PRCA ensured staff here on Bridge Street are fully updated with the sector’s ever-changing best practices. And sessions with Goldman Sachs gave us far better knowledge of financial goal setting and recruitment strategies to help us with our ambitious plans for growth.
The latter should help no end on our involvement with the Manchester Publicity Association (MPA). Wednesday 14th November sees the Native Creatives event take over the offices of tech giant UKFast, with the goal of encouraging raw talent to make the leap into the North West’s burgeoning sectors of advertising, media, social, PR, digital, tech, gaming, visual effects, animation, TV, film and more.
We’ve been really pleased to come on board as an early partner for this project and work with industry peers to help tackle a talent shortage head on. We’ll see you there.
With all this happening you wouldn’t think there had been much time for anything else, but you’d be wrong. We’ve welcomed a further three Smoking Gun babies since our last update, with two staff members becoming parents— one with twins— while two of our senior team have celebrated their birthdays this month. Exhausting but exciting and exhilarating times, we’ll see you at the end of November for more news from HQ.
