November 2015 in the Smoking Gun study

image
Forget Christmas, at least for a second. The last few weeks have been full of more gifts from the PR gods that we had time to unwrap. Well, almost. From award and new business wins, to campaigns boasting phenomenal results, with news like this someone is surely spoiling us.
First up, although the Bridge Street mantlepiece is rapidly approaching breaking point, we still managed to balance a couple more gongs on the shelf. Our work for Tudors On Tour, which included putting Henry VIII on a Metrolink tram in Manchester, secured headlines across a variety of high profile media, bagging a CIPR NW PRide Award in the Arts, Culture and Media category this month. Meanwhile, Magnet Trade found glory at the same ceremony, competing in the Best Use of Social Media competition.
Evelyns launch
The success stories don’t end there, either. We’ve been called upon by restaurant chain Zanna Group, who have various premises in London and Manchester, to help with the launch of Evelyn’s Cafe & Bar, the latest eatery to grace the Northern Quarter’s already competitive dining scene. Thankfully, though, with dishes like Korean Chilli Chicken, already a strong favourite with the team, it’s been proving easy to win over press and public alike.
Our boffins have also been busy working on a significant push for England Squash, the national association for said sport, further cementing our status as a go-to agency for Sports PR. Meanwhile, endeavours for Rayburn Trading, a Manchester-based wholesaler, saw a 500% increase in customer enquiries after we helped the firm maximise a spot on BBC’s entrepreneurial smash hit show, The Apprentice, proving that a little limelight in the right place goes a very, very long way.
Annie blogger session
Elsewhere, Annie attended a vlogger training session, boosting her knowledge of and contacts within one of the most important areas of modern media. And the big man himself, Rick, was involved in the Thinking Digital Conference at HOME, Manchester’s acclaimed new arts and cultural hub, gleaning plenty from discussions about the future of the creative industries. Still, a great way to round off Smoking Gun PR’s sixth November, and a hugely impressive one at that.
