A mid-sized town’s worth of people are heading to a field in England this week— specifically Somerset— but it has been a full month of festivals and celebrations for PR, marketing and creative industries.
Manchester’s most ingenious comms agency is no exception, with plenty to raise a glass to. National award shortlists, guest speaking, an array of exceptional media and social hits, not to mention innovative leadership training.
Starting with the most recent, on Tuesday evening Smoking Gun made the final shortlist at the CIPR Excellence Awards for Outstanding Small Agency and Media Relations. We’re delighted considering how competitive the categories were and the standards required to secure a nomination alone.
We made the grade thanks to exceptional client work and breadth of experience. Now we’ll be sharing the latter via a new mentoring communicators partnership with Friends of the Earth and Francis House Hospice, enhancing their PR and comms work.
Secured during a MediaTrust Charities speedmatching event, it reinforces a clear message.
As industry experts, we take our obligations seriously by helping worthwhile causes shout louder.
Great to welcome some of the industry’s leading brands & agencies @Gumtree, @SlimmingWorld, @AirbusintheUK, @SmokingGunPR, @weare_ic to our Manchester HQ to discuss the future of #measurement in #PR for @prweekuknews first Northern #PRWBreakfast event this morning. pic.twitter.com/XZBNdZPEuP

Once again, our CEO Rick Guttridge has been busy at a host of professional events. Speaking at the first PR Week Breakfast in Manchester, the conversation looked at how agencies can better identify vital metrics and prove campaign ROI. Something we have blogged on time and time again.
The Big Gun wasn’t the only one out and about, either. Our latest team building lunch was at Honest Burger— a vital monthly excursion to build staff bonds. Once again that includes Jax Buckland, back from maternity leave to further bolster our social team.
Today, we’ve been at @LadyDinahsCats in London hosting a cat blogger event for our client @bigtickandflea. We discussed the importance of preventative healthcare and flea treatment for cats with TV presenter @MichaelaStracha. pic.twitter.com/xWAN1ewE7s

On the client front, Bromak Recruitment received a brand positioning workshop— full roll out to follow. Animal healthcare specialist MSD held a blogger event in London focussed on the Big Tick & Flea Project. Captain Kombucha bottles were mailed to drinks writers. And Silentnight cleaned up Formby Beach in another eco story. That’s after filming with sleep expert Dr. Nerina Ramlakhan.
Today, we’re filming some new sleep content with author and sleep expert @DrNerina for our client @silentnightbeds ? #videoshoot pic.twitter.com/6DIAmvKdog

That’s all in addition to vox popping the public on hidden motoring laws many people are breaking, for Redex Additives. But let’s not go on. Put simply, we’ve been busy making things happen. Enough said.
Is it an offence to pay with your phone at a drive-thru?
We’ve been asking motorists in Manchester for our client @RedexAdditives. Find out below #driving #carlaw #client pic.twitter.com/j19fhOYJyw
