Summer might be full of distractions, whether that’s great weather or last minute holiday plans, but here on Bridge Street we’ve still been hard at work. As is proved by another major client win, two great stunts and fantastic all round results.
First up, we’re delighted to announce that kitchen giant Magnet Trade has appointed Smoking Gun PR as communications partner. Our task will be to work across traditional and digital channels to help drive new business leads, increase brand exposure and surrounding sentiment, and cement the company’s place at the top of its market. And we couldn’t be happier about the proposition.
Along with another company joining the fold, our recent (and ongoing) recruitment drive has led to the appointment of Kineta Kelsall as our new Digital Manager. An expert in her field set to bring with her significant experience having worked for agencies in the north and further afield, this represents both a further expansion to the team and our ongoing commitment to ensuring all firms we look after have the best possible resources at their disposal.
A further boost to staff numbers can also be seen in Sam Hutchinson, our Social Media Intern who has now completed her City & Guilds apprenticeship to join Smoking Gun PR full-time, with one of her first tasks being to attend a debate in Manchester last week on the future of print media. Rubbing shoulders with bigwigs from the likes of ITV News and The Guardian in the process, to say the event was fruitful is probably an understatement.
Recent times have also seen us take to the streets of our hometown to help promote some of the brands we work with. At the beginning of the month we boosted Virgin Holidays’ standing in the region by converting a Spinningfields thoroughfare into a tropical paradise, using 360-degree screens to recreate what it’s like to step off the plane in Barbados in aid of new direct flights from Manchester. Meanwhile, last Saturday our team were at Grill Stock in the iconic Albert Square, where they represented our most delicious new business friends, the Manchester-based seasoning experts Flava-It. Barely time to catch out breath, then, it’s really all in a few week’s work.
