We recently donated over 60 bottles of Persil Washing Up Liquid to Salford Central Foodbank, which helps local people in need of everyday essentials such as food and household items.
Salford Central Foodbank is part of The Trussell Trust’s UK foodbank network, which works in partnership with local churches and communities. Trussell Trust recently reported that foodbank usage has increased by more than 300% in the past year, making them a vital part of local communities.
This surplus Persil Washing Up Liquid was due to our client McBride recently launching a new and improved formula, meaning each bottle cleans 12 per cent more than before, (that’s 1,400 extra plates). With McBride’s roots in Manchester, we decided to help the local community by donating the old washing up liquid to a food bank, after all, it’s still a fantastic product.
On the back of the new formula, we launched Persil Washing Up Liquid’s ‘Cook with the Kids’ campaign to encourage more parents to get messy in the kitchen with their kids, because Persil Washing Up Liquid is perfect for cleaning dirty pots and pans afterwards! This resulted in national coverage online and in print.
Salford Food Bank was incredibly grateful to receive the stock as they were running low on household products. So there we go, problem solved and a charitable good deed done! Let us know about your good deeds on Twitter @SmokingGunPR.
