February 2015 in the Smoking Gun Study

BRITAIN - Hampton Court Palace

No sooner had we been led to believe the frozen thermometer was thawing and temperatures plunged back below zero. Thankfully, though, with more award nominations, a high profile new event project, and another addition to the staff base, we’ve been too busy to feel the chill in the air.
Nevertheless, March can’t come soon enough. Especially as we’re up for seven gongs at the PRmoment Awards, which take place on the 11th of the month. These include Best Use of Research (For A Happy Childhood with Panda Drinks); Event of the Year and Consumer Campaign of the Year (Virgin Holidays – Manchester Tunnel to Barbados); B2B Campaign of the Year (Magnet Trade – Talking to the Trade); Best Small PR, Social Media, and Consumer PR Agency. Wish us luck.
Elsewhere and we’re thrilled to have won a competitive pitch to handle the publicity for the Tudors On Tour spectacular, which takes place at beautiful Tatton Park in Cheshire from Saturday 2nd – Monday 4th May 2015. Presented by Historic Royal Palaces, the extravaganza commemorates the arrival of King Henry VIII at the manor house after his journey from Hampton Court Palace, and will see jousting tournaments, a medieval-style feast, and suitably regal entertainers, along with a state of the art 360-degree ‘pop up palace’. Click here for details.
It also gives us great pleasure to introduce the latest addition to our team, Cara Churchman, who joins Smoking Gun as a Senior Account Executive, adding yet more talent to our offering. With four years experience working for agencies in the region, we’re sure she will make an indispensable asset that our clients will reap huge benefits from, and represents our ongoing commitment to providing the finest public relations services in the country.
Another in-house mover and shaker, our very own Kineta Kelsall has been very busy in recent weeks doing what she does best- sharing in depth knowledge of the latest trends in the ever-changing world of social media. Take a look at the video she made below, which gives bite-sized information on everything you need to know to avoid falling behind in 2015, and we’ll see you soon, either in the office for a cup of Peanut Hottie and mouthful of Panda Liquorice, or back on these pages for the newsletter next month.
