The Blagger’s Blog – a weekly roundup of media news, sans effort
Quote of the week
“This sounds like a logistical nightmare.”
CNN Travel’s Juliet Perry writing about King Salman bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia, who is visiting Indonesia and bringing with him 1,500 people, two working elevators, and more than 500 tons of luggage. Hands up who wants to be behind him at departures check in?
Weekly high
English theme park Chessington World of Adventures has launched a new campaign this week- the entertainment giant is on the hunt for VIPs- Very Important Preschoolers- in a bid to have these little experts come down and help ‘toddler proof’ the area ahead of the new Gruffalo River Ride attraction, which opens on 18th March. With Smoking Gun’s ever-growing family we could think of a few worthy candidates ourselves.
Weekly low
It would be easy for us to fill our Weekly Low with weekly updates from Washington D.C. We’ve done our best to avoid it, though, but the last seven days have been a true PR catastrophe, even for an administration that seems to court them. Not only has Attorney General Jeff Sissons lied under oath about secret meetings with the Russian ambassador to the U.S., now it seems several more in The Donald’s team have been in the company of Moscow’s officials prior to the presidential election, too. If this were a business shares would be crashing right now.
Need to know
The Manchester Evening News now ranks as the UK’s biggest regional press website.
Snapchat shares have soared by almost 50%, bringing the company value to $29billion.
