Facebook has announced it will start trialling a new subscription system for Instant Articles, including bigger logos of the content’s original publisher, and take 0% of the money made as and when users decide to subscribe to a feed. This could, in effect, reverse some of the ongoing negative sentiment from the press towards the social network, which has been criticised for taking too much cash from work produced by media titles.

Whoever devised a ‘marketing campaign’ for Calgary Airport involving the removal of disabled parking spaces, replacing these with ‘Lexus-only’ spots, clearly wasn’t thinking about the fallout. Thankfully the situation has now been rectified, but it makes you wonder.

- Nestle’s global head of integrated marketing has quit to join French media company Konbini, claiming ‘the advertising model is broken’.
- Artifical Intelligence has started making music of its own- presumably fed up of being stuck in the backroom correcting the mistakes of human producers- thanks to the efforts of YouTube personality/singer/”neuroscience junkie” Taryn Southern, and start-up firm Amper Music.
