In response to the so-called ‘gag law’, which comes into effect on 1st July and will see protests outside government buildings illegalised, activists in Spain held the world’s first hologram march outside the lower house of parliament in Madrid, with thousands of people turning out to voice their opposition to the legislation, without really turning out. As the anniversary of the World War One battle of Gallipoli approaches, Australians know only too well the sensitivity surrounding the acronym ANZAC. As such it’s unsurprising Woolworths experienced a Twitter backlash for jumping on the back of the centenary, with the public accusing the firm of insensitivity in extremis.
