 Weekly High

We’re all familiar with the slogan ‘if Carlsberg did…’, but few will have experienced free beers, on tap, dispensed from a billboard. As such our Weekly High goes to the Danish lager brand for its stunt outside the Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch this week, which gave passer’s by complimentary pints between 1PM and 7PM on Wednesday.

Weekly Low

Mobile phone companies will stop at nothing to make people believe their product is better than the competition. As such it’s unsurprising that Samsung is now paying people to attend its launch events in China. The only problem being, most of those who were there- and required to take pictures of the new S6 smartphone- decided to use their iPhones to snap images of the device. Not a particularly successful push.

Stories to keep an eye on

The Newspaper Readership Survey, which has measured publisher’s audiences for 60 years, is to be replaced by a new ‘digital-friendly’ Publishers Audience Measurement Company.

Facebook Messenger is now available on desktops.

Newsweek Europe, which launched last year, is undergoing a design overhaul of its print publication, with Android and iOS apps planned for the near future.
