It has been one of those months to say the least at Smoking Gun. Heatwaves, floods, Amazonian fires and parliamentary sovereignty mean many people haven’t known which way to turn. For our clients, though, things have been far smoother— outstanding coverage, brand film shoots and yet more evidence we’re committed to ongoing staff development to deliver more impressive campaigns than ever before.
It’s certainly not all bad news then. Just ask Support Adoption For Pets. Our dedicated team secured high profile broadcast spots with two of the north’s leading platforms; BBC Radio Lancashire and BBC Radio Sheffield. That means exceptional reach across two key regions in this corner of the country, helping push the charity’s name— not to mention its work— to a wide, actively engaged audience.
From audio to video, two of our other favourites have been in front of cameras with us during recent weeks. Willerby, UK’s largest manufacturer of holiday homes, has shot new case study content for its Park Homes brand, while we were filming with Silentnight at the very high-brow Highclere Castle— the setting for Downton Abbey. Coming soon to a screen near you, we were on set to oversee both undertakings and— spoiler alert— can attest to the quality of the finished results.
Smoking Gun prides itself on investing in employees. Whether that’s through our personal development fund, or ongoing training opportunities to help everyone in the office stay up to speed on the latest trends, practices and requirements in the industry. This month that manifested itself in an internal SEO workshop focused on the importance of link building. And tech influencer training delivered by celebrated blogger and good friend of the agency, Emma Campbell, of What Emma Did.
We’ve also linked up with Prolific North on another roundtable. On Thursday 26th September our Manchester base will be the host venue for a discussion on ‘The Power of Reputation. This follows the success of our previous event on The Future of Influencer Marketing. Next month’s session is an invite-only affair, but you can register your interest in taking part with Prolific North’s Commercial Manager, Rebecca Waterhouse, here.
Last time round we welcomed attendees from major companies such as Kellogg’s, Arla Foods, Booths, Co-Op and On The Beach, to name but a few. It also saw us launch our latest free-to-download resource offering the latest guidance, advice from expert sources and a fundamental overview on the subject of influencer marketing. If you missed out the document is still available here, so grab a copy and we’ll see you in a few weeks.
