A brief update from the Smoking Gun study

If summer is supposed to be down time then evidently someone forgot to tell Manchester. From major science and music festivals, to the first vote for a publicly elected mayor, it’s all been going off in our hometown recently, and we could say the same for Smoking Gun’s HQ, too.

It’s not all happy news, though- we’re waving goodbye to one placement year’s student, Meabh, who has now completed her 12 month stint on the frontline of this particular leading communications agency. Parting is such sweet sorrow, as they say, and it’s certainly been a pleasure having her around. Here’s what she thinks about her year in the industry…

All of which means it’s definitely time to welcome at least one fresh face, and we’re doing just that with our next intern, Rhia. With wide open arms no less. We’re sure she’ll make for another vital asset, and whilst she’s here for the training, as ever we know there will be a few things she can teach us too.
Aside from that, we’re thoroughly pumped with our latest exciting client, Les Mills International. The creators of international group fitness programmes such as Body Pump and Body Combat, not to mention high intensity interval training like Grit, have decided Bridge Street’s finest are the best men and women for the job, and so we’ll now be looking after their press affairs, and  we’re prepared to work up something of a sweat.
Aside from that we have been thrilled at the recent Science In The City programme, bringing innovation to the streets as part of Manchester’s European City of Science celebrations, which also included the Bluedot festival at Jodrell Bank some of us were lucky enough to attend. Another sign of just how forward thinking our corner of the globe currently is, there’s nowhere in the world more suited to our own ideas about pushing things forward.
In the spirit of all that, then, let’s get back to it.
