Quote of the week

“Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination.” Oscar Wilde, which seemed fitting to re-appropriate for Black Friday- today.

Weekly High

Weekly Low

Co-creator and CEO of Tinder, Sean Rad, appeared in an interview with London’s Evening Standard recently, claiming to be a ‘romantic’ and ‘ready to settle down’ to have ‘lots of kids’. Nevertheless, he also admits to being addicted to his dating app, which many associate more with one-night hookups than lasting relationships, something that seems at odds with his self-professed honour. Twitter has been alive with metaphorical raised eyebrows since.

Stories To Keep An Eye On

Liverpool FC has signed a deal with Chinese video service provider PPTV, to produce 5,000 Liverpool-themed television sets in 2016, as part of a major push to extend the brand reach in Asia.

The Times has admitted that the now-hugely controversial story in The Sun, one of its stablemate titles, was ‘misleading’. Understatement of the month, if not year.

The Sun drops its paywall on Monday, and Now TV, Sky’s online streaming service, is preparing to launch a new ad campaign letting people know (whilst promoting its own product, of course).

This month we look at sexism in the media, how brands can use emojis in marketing campaigns, the annual Christmas advert onslaught, what native advertising really offers companies, and round up the latest news from here on Bridge Street.
