Thought for the Week

“Christmas doesn’t come from a store, maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more….” Dr. Seuss, in How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

Weekly High

In true festive spirit, the best thing we’ve seen all week- other than our own dance moves at the Smoking Gun Christmas party on Wednesday evening- is this Holiday Gift Guide from our favourite political figurehead, Kid President. No, we can’t get enough of him either.

Weekly Low

If you hadn’t already picked up on the problem before, then chances are you already own a property. Statistics revealed this week by lettings agency network LSL Property Services confirmed that average rental prices in England and Wales now stand at £753 per month, twice the level of earnings.

Things that may happen in the next week

Most of the UK will leave work this evening and prepare for an indulgent week at home for the seasonal holidays. BAE will begin counting the cost of not securing a deal to sell the Eurofighter to the United Arab Emirates. On Wednesday the Christian world will mark the birth of Jesus with Christmas Day.

Just in case you missed it…

The Smoking Gun Almanac 2013- summarising a year here on Quay Street, 12 months in PR and new media trends to have emerged over the last 50 weeks, was unveiled yesterday.

If there is a success story, blunder, or news event you’d like to see included email helloATsmokinggun.co.uk or tweet using #blaggersblog. Happy Friday!
